Jess’s story

Jess, 18, has been coming to Green Patch for many years, and now she volunteers.

“I struggle quite badly with anxiety, but when I come to Green Patch, I don’t feel anxious. I am surrounded by other young people who don’t judge me and I love socialising and doing tasks with them.

I am from Burton Latimer, but I currently study at Tresham College. I used to come to Green Patch on Wednesdays for activities and I now volunteer because it has helped me so much, I want to return my help. I wouldn’t have gone to college if I had not come here – I needed encouragement and I want to thank everyone at Green Patch for giving me this. Green Patch – the place and the team – have made a huge difference.”
